DUAC's Rs 100 cr project to enhance Delhi's beauty
Friday, January 13, 2012
The promise of the Delhi Urban Art Commission to enhance Delhi's beauty on the lines of London and Paris in ten years would come at a cost of a whopping Rs 100 crore. The Commission has already asked the Union Urban Development Ministry for the amount. Discussing his plans, the Chairman of the Commission Raj Reval said in a news conference on Wednesday, "The architects must be made to compete with each other over the construction fee to avoid extra expenditure."

Expressing concern on delayed projects in Delhi, Reval Said, "The lack of coordination between various departments is the main reason behind the slow development of the metro city. This is because, untill the file is approved by concerned bodies, the input cost doubles in the intervening period." He stressed the need to implement single window system and has already sent a proposal in this regard to the Urban Development Ministry.
